Chapter 10 - Blood and Steel

Vargas’s sneer vanished, replaced by sheer panic. “Kill him! Shoot him now!”
Gunfire erupted inside the warehouse, but Dante was already moving. He dove behind a heavy steel forklift as bullets chewed into the concrete around him. Returning fire with pinpoint accuracy, Dante dropped two mercenaries before they could reposition.
From the high catwalks, Victor and his specialized team unleashed a coordinated counter-assault, raining down flashbangs and precision rounds that scattered Vargas’s henchmen into complete disarray.
Dante advanced through the smoke like an unstoppable force. He disarmed a charging guard with a bone-crushing sweep, driving him into a stack of wooden crates, then ducked under a wild rifle swing to deliver a devastating right cross that sent another sprawling.
Vargas sprinted toward an open loading bay, clutching a leather briefcase containing his passport and emergency cash. Dante broke into a dead run, vaulting over a freight cart and tackling Vargas onto the rain-slicked concrete outside.
They tumbled through the mud, Vargas wildly slashing with a concealed blade. The knife caught Dante’s forearm, tearing the leather and biting into flesh, but Dante didn’t even flinch. He grabbed Vargas by the throat, slamming him against the rusted wheel of a boxcar.
“It’s over, Hector,” Dante growled, blood dripping from his arm onto the gravel.

“You can’t kill me!” Vargas gasped, choking for air. “The Feds… my men… they’ll hunt that girl to the ends of the earth!”
“No, they won’t,” Dante said, his voice cold as a winter grave. “Because your syndicate ends tonight.”
